Perfect for 2 but can sleep up to 4 at additional cost
Fantastic self contained small barn conversion a few minutes from Haslemere and the surrounding villages. Perfectly cosy place to begin or end a walking holiday in the beautiful countryside on our doorstep, or as a short overnight stop whilst visiting friends or relatives.
The Little Barn is a recently converted space which provides everything you need for a short stay.
With its own private entrance, it has a comfortably furnished living space with sofa bed and wide screen TV with Firestick and Chromecast, a DVD player, a beautifully finished shower room with large rain shower.
The kitchen area has a fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, small induction hob and a Nespresso machine (and a few capsules to keep you going!) as well as all crockery and cutlery needed for simple meals.
A small (but steep) flight of stairs takes you to the galleried bedroom with a double bed and premium bed linen.
There is parking directly outside the property and we ask that you park directly in front of the garage to allow other vehicles on and off the driveway.
You will have access to the whole of The Little Barn.
It is detached from our family home and we have 3 children and 2 daft Labradors named Ruby & Cricket who will likely be in the garden at some point during your stay, especially during weekends and holidays however they won’t be directly next to The Little Barn and disruption will be minimal to guests. When you arrive they will likely greet you loudly when you arrive, but they really are harmless.
We are around if you need help – but otherwise we will leave you to enjoy your stay in peace
The Stairs to the bedroom are very steep – there is a handrail but they aren’t suitable for those with impaired mobility.
Cosy Getaway
Climb the (steep) stairs to a cosy mezzanine double bedroom.
Simply furnished with a double bed, bedside lights and tables, feather mattress topper and luxury bed linen, you will be sure of a great nights sleep.
As you can see the bed is in the eaves of the building and height isn’t at a premium but who sleeps standing up?!
There is also a double sofa bed available by prior agreement in the downstairs living area.
The Little Barn is priced from £85 per night for 2 sharing, each additional guest is £15 up to a maximum of 4 people in total
Just step out of the door and you can explore the area through a maze of public footpaths. Also great for keen mountain bikers! Horse riding, clay shooting and course fishing are available in the area.
A walk across Bramshott Common takes you to a wonderful pub with great food! But if its wet you will need wellies!!!
Walk, cycle or drive to National Trusts Blackdown, Waggoners Wells, Swan Barn Farm, Hindhead Common, or the Devils Punch Bowl. Spend the day visiting the market towns Haslemere and Midhurst. Stroll through the historic Cowdray Ruins and maybe take in a polo match. Head to Cowdray farm shop and café to stock up on or sample locally sourced produce. Or sample wine, beers & spirits at Lurgashall Winery & Blackdown Distillery.
If you’d like to relax for the afternoon book into the Amarna Spa, which is a 10 minute drive away, or Champneys which is 10 minutes in the other direction.
There is much to enjoy in the surrounding area too, including Petworth, an important centre for antiques and a bustle of boutique shops and cafés. Within the Petworth area is the famous National Trust Petworth House. Other nearby sights are Uppark, Arundel Castle, Nelson’s ‘Victory’ in Portsmouth Historic Dockyards, the delightful Elizabethan mansion and gardens at Parham House & Gardens and Weald & Downland Open Air Museum.
Go horse or motor racing at Goodwood, we are a great place to start from if you are attending Festival of Speed or Revival!! In fact we will probably see you there!
The City of Chichester is the next stop along the route. Spend a day on the West Witterings beach, Fossil Hunting at Bracklesham Bay or visit one of many charming seaside villages. See a show at the Festival Theatre or go to see a movie at the independent New Park Cinema.
The area offers sights and activities for all ages and you will not be disappointed with your visit.
There’s no access to public transport so a car is essential – unless you’re on a cycling holiday of the South Downs in which case its great!
